Included in the available Elite Package, the voice-activated Navigation System features sophisticated speech-recognition software that makes control incredibly easy. Just say the name of your destination while driving, and a course is plotted. In Route Guidance mode, upcoming street names are called out. A bird’s-eye view includes on-screen landmarks for additional reference.

On the road, getting too close is discouraged. To help you keep your distance, activate the available Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning with Brake Support and let MKT maintain the pace. This radar-based system is designed to maintain one of three preset gaps between MKT and the vehicle in front of it. When sensors detect that a vehicle ahead is slowing, MKT slows down. When sensors detect the gap widening, you return to your preset speed. Even while commuting, the system adjusts the gap as vehicles brake, accelerate, and change lanes around you.
Whether Adaptive Cruise Control is activated or not, collision warning with brake support is always active and ready to respond. If sensors detect a potential rear-end collision with the vehicle in front of you, collision warning chimes and flashes a red warning light on the windshield to get your attention. If you fail to respond immediately, brake support pre-charges brake pressure so you get full brake power when applied. It’s just one more way Lincoln MKT stays on the lookout for you.

The Luxury of Limits
The MyKey™ allows you to program a restricted driving mode on one standard key supplied with your vehicle or any programmed spare key to promote good driving habits. You can limit top speed or select speed alert chimes each time the vehicle speed reaches 72, 88, or 105 km/h. With MyKey you may also limit volume of the audio system to 44 percent of its maximum output. Safety features like the Belt-Minder® System cannot be disabled and the audio system will be muted, whenever Belt-Minder is activated.

AdvanceTrac® with RSC® (Roll Stability Control™)* is the industry’s only electronic stability control system with two gyroscopic sensors – one of which is a unique vehicle-roll motion sensor that directly measures the vehicle’s roll rate 100 times every second. Working in conjunction with the Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS), traction control and yaw control, AdvanceTrac® with RSC uses the roll rate and other information to automatically determine when and how it will apply individual brakes and/or modify engine power to help keep all four wheels of Lincoln MKT firmly planted.

Safety Just Got Smarter
The available collision warning with brake support helps in case a collision appears imminent. This function will alert you if it senses a potential rear-end collision with the vehicle in front of you. A “heads-up” display, which simulates brake lights, flashes on the windshield. If you don’t react, and the system detects a collision is imminent, the brakes will pre-charge, increasing brake assist sensitivity to help provide you with full brake responsiveness when you press the pedal.*

Attention When You Need It.
Additional peace of mind comes from the standard SOS Post-Crash Alert System™, which becomes operational in the event of airbag deployment or safety belt pretensioner activation.* If either of these occurs, the hazard lights flash and the horn sounds, so that you and your passengers may be more easily located after an accident. In this case, drawing attention to yourself is a very good thing.

Surrounded by Safety
Truth be told, we’d like the six standard airbags in Lincoln MKT to stay under wraps. We’re not trying to hide them. In fact, we couldn’t be more proud. Our safety engineers lavished attention on the design and shape of each one. Driver and front-passenger coverage includes dual-stage front airbags and front-seat side airbags, while all outboard passengers benefit from the side-curtain airbags and rollover sensor in the Safety Canopy® System. In certain types of side-impact or rollover events, the side-curtain airbags with roll-fold technology deploy from the headliner to cover all three rows.
Authorized Drivers Only
This system is activated by pressing the start/stop button to stop the engine and is designed to help prevent the engine from being started unless a coded key, programmed to your vehicle, is used.
Stop Safer
The four-wheel ABS and electronic brake force distribution (EBD) helps prevent wheel lockup during hard braking conditions. When computer-controlled sensors indicate wheel lockup during hard braking, the four-channel ABS electronically pumps the brakes several times per second, helping you maintain steering control.
It Can Handle the Pressure
When the tire pressure goes below the recommended tire inflation level,* a warning lamp is displayed along with a corresponding notification in the message centre.
